You can watch the trailer here.
An Overview [few spoilers ahead]:
The story of Arknightss Animation: Prelude to Dawn unfolds in the city of Lungmen, which has been cut off from the rest of the world by the Infected. Life in Lungmen is harsh, and the people live under the shadow of fear and uncertainty. However, the city is protected by a group of vigilantes called Rhodes Island, who take care of both the healthy and the Infected. The Rhodes Island team consists of skilled warriors known as Operators and medical professionals who provide care for the sick and wounded.
As the situation in Lungmen worsens, it becomes apparent that a larger and more dangerous threat is looming on the horizon. Drugs are being smuggled into the city that are causing people to mutate and become violent Infected. Meanwhile, the Rhodes Island team is facing its own internal struggles, with some members questioning the leadership and the organization's objectives. Despite these challenges, the team must continue to protect the people of Lungmen and the world from the Infected threat.
One of the strengths of Arknights Animation: Prelude to Dawn is its well-developed characters. Each member of the Rhodes Island team has a unique backstory and motivations. We see how they came to join the team and what drives them to risk their lives daily to protect the people of Lungmen. The characters also interact in realistic ways, with friendships forming, rivalries emerging, and personalities clashing.
Another impressive aspect of Arknights Animation: Prelude to Dawn is its stunning animation. The fight scenes are beautifully choreographed, with Operators showcasing their powers and skills in thrilling battles against the Infected. The character designs are also impressive, with each Operator having a distinct look and style. The Infected themselves are also creatively designed, with different types of monsters having unique abilities and weaknesses. The worldbuilding is equally impressive, with Lungmen feeling like a lived-in and believable city, complete with its own history and culture.
Personal Opinion:
While some viewers may find it a tad dull, in my personal opinion, it is worth it. If you have an inclination towards a slower pace, thought-provoking narrative, and well-executed action sequences, then this anime is made for you. To me, even during the seemingly "mundane" moments, there's an underlying unease, a subtle discordance that's inexplicable yet captivating, compelling me to continue watching. Personally, I like the dark, somewhat somber, post-apocalyptic atmosphere that contains in the entire series. Within this ambiance, there are some conversations that made me question some things I though I knew well. Questions about the true responsibilities of a leader, the blurred lines between right and wrong, and whether such distinctions even exist.

Initially, it might appear as if the series consists solely of greatly animated action sequences along with some uneventful moments, but it possesses a subtle touch of philosophy that I find appealing. Now, if I were to point out a drawback in the storyline, it would be the lack of significant narrative development. However, it's important to bear in mind that this anime is an adaptation of a game which is still ongoing, necessitating adherence to its original plot. Thus, I would give it a rating of 8.5/10.
Overall, Arknights Animation: Prelude to Dawn is a must-watch for anime fans and anyone who loves a well-told story with stunning visuals. The characters are compelling, the animation is superb, and the world is fascinating. The themes of hope, sacrifice, and heroism are timeless and resonate with audiences of all ages. Whether you're a die-hard anime fan or just looking for a thrilling story to escape into, Arknights Animation: Prelude to Dawn is a series you shouldn't miss.
