This post contains:
- To Every You I've Loved Before explained.
- To Every You I've Loved Before review.
Now, I've watched this movie only after watching the other one. So this explanation might not be suitable to the viewers who watched "To Every You I've Loved Before" first.
Also, before starting, you can refer to the other movie, "To Me, The One Who Loved You" explanation which you can read here.
So... This is what I understood :
I'll refer to the world where the movie starts as world2; and the world where Kazune and Koyomi were not married as world1. This is just to stay in sync with my other movie's explanation.
This is the world(world2) where Koyomi lives with his mother and his dog is alive but his grandfather passed away.
And the biggest change : he was with Kazune instead of Shiori this time.
In this world, world2, after his grandfather passed away, few years later, his dog passed away as well and was buried in the same spot as seen in world1.
After that, many years passed and in school, Kazune, came up to Koyomi in school claiming that she and Koyomi were going out and that Koyomi owed her an apology. On hearing this, Koyomi was taken aback since he was hearing this for the first time.
When Kazune saw that Koyomi was unable to understand the situation, they both went to a karaoke to sort things out.
Here, Kazune noticed her watch and claimed that she shifted to this world which was 85 points away from her original where she and Koyomi were going out.
After she said this, she and Koyomi went back and forth with each other till they both came to a conclusion that they should not talk with or greet each other at school.

After this, they were going to school routinely but Koyomi was unable to understand that if this world's Kazune had returned or not. Loosing his patience from this, Koyomi went ahead and talked to Kazune but she just cycled away without replying. Later Koyomi put a note in Kazune's shoe locker asking her to go to the karaoke to clear up where she eventually ended up going.
Then Koyomi, assuming that this world's(world2) Kazune had returned, asked her to become his friend since he had none. At that moment Kazune burst out laughing and finally admitting that the whole thing about shifting to another world 85 points away was a LIE. Koyomi was speechless. Of course.
On asking her the motive behind this lie, Kazune said that she wanted to get back to him because she felt proud about the speech she gave which she didn't earn and got the chance to do so only because Koyomi declined the offer to give the speech.
After this, Koyomi suddenly asked her to go out with him which Kazune bluntly declined saying the Koyomi she knew was more dependable. And before leaving the karaoke she also said to continue not talking in school with each other.
Despite Kazune being the one who said not to talk in school, she went up to Koyomi in school asking for some help regarding a problem related to academics.
Starting from here, both Koyomi an Kazune grew close as time passed. And after being rejected by Kazune multiple times in that time, Koyomi gave up.
Sometime later, Kazune herself asked Koyomi to go out with her hearing which Koyomi was extremely surprised.
Meanwhile, Kazune and Koyomi together came up with an improvement in the IP device which was a big success.
Long after they started going out, on a beautiful night, Koyomi asked Kazune to marry him where he gave her a ring with an aquamarine fitting. She accepted his proposal.
Quite sometime after accepting his proposal, Kazune and Koyomi got married and had a child named whose was named Ryou.
One day, Koyomi, Kazune and Ryou went for a trip. While in that trip, a tragedy struck. A madman with a knife started hurtling it towards random people in that area. Unfortunately, that man came swinging his knife towards Ryou and killed him.
Few seconds later, we see that Ryou was sleeping in his bed peacefully and Kazune and Koyomi were discussing how they were lucky that the man with the knife was apprehended.
Many people might have gotten confused about how Ryou came back to life. Well... He didn't. Only the part where Ryou was killed, happened in some other world which I'll term as worldX. In this world, world2, the man with the knife came to attack Ryou but was tackled by Koyomi and was apprehended by proper authorities.
After that incident, when the family was normally living their lives, Koyomi noticed that Kazune was acting strange and was not letting Ryou leave her side.
Eventually, Koyomi found out that the Kazune now, was actually the Kazune from worldX. She shifted to this world to get back to Ryou who was still alive in this world. Turns out, she was about 13 worlds away from her original world.
When Koyomi confronted Kazune of worldX about this, she refused to return and let go of Ryou. Eventually she came to an understanding and agreed to return to her original world, worldX.
After Kazune of worldX returned back to worldX, the Kazune of this world, world2, returned as well. But she wasn't the absolute original one. She was the one closest to original. This happened because while Kazune of worldX was here, world2 Kazune made choices in the other world and split worlds into parallel worlds which made it impossible to stay original.
After all this, Koyomi's family progressed through time and eventually had a grandchild and were happy together.
During this time, Koyomi became ill.
One day, when Koyomi was sleeping, the Kazune from world1, whom we saw in the previous movie, shifted to this world, world2. The reason she did this was to explain the events of world1 to Kazune of world2.
That Koyomi from world1 while being around aged 60 Time Shifted to world2 to age 7 so that the world2 progress as Koyomi and Shiori never met each other causing her to never have an accident. Kazune of world1 wrote a note while being in world2 so that Kazune of world2 would read it; and meanwhile she put an alarm on Koyomi's wrist watch notifying him to meet someone at the crossroads.
Kazune of world2 read Kazune of world1's note and followed it.
On the fixed date, Koyomi got the notification and Kazune urged him to go visit the crossroad.
After visiting the crossroad, Koyomi met with an old lady, who I personally suppose was Shiori because of the things she said(like having to say a line after helping someone in her bucket list).
Koyomi and that lady had a talk about happiness and then both went on their way. Koyomi then realized that no one was coming to meet him, unbeknownst to him that he already met the one he was supposed to meet.
After that meet, Koyomi returned to his house and appreciated the fact that he was very glad to have known and loved and married Kazune of this world and the Kazune of all the other worlds he loved.
He was also thankful to all the Koyomi's who loved someone else so that he could love Kazune of this world.

And that folks, was my explanation of this movie. I hope I haven't missed anything major. If you have any corrections, please feel free to comment it.
My review on "To Every You I've Loved Before":
Also, I really liked this movie.
I would rate "To Every You I've Loved Before" 8.6/10.
And oh, by the way, did you guys notice that the color of Kazune's eyes were in correspondence to the movies. Nice work with Kazune eye color.
Like... Kazune had red eyes in world1, which was main focus(world1) of the movie "To Me, The One Who Loved You" whose cover art was red.
Similarly, Kazune had blue eyes in world2, which was main focus(world2) of the movie "To every you I've Loved Before" whose cover art was blue.
"To Every You I've Loved Before" and "To Me, The One Who Loved You" are the only two anime movies with no correct or specific watch order. This really was a great concept.
Yo thats right! I just went back and checked the eye color part. Wow! cant believe I missed that. Great explanation though!
